Donation Policy
At Mangrove Foundation of India (MFI), we believe in complete transparency and ethical stewardship of funds received from individual donors, corporate partners, and institutions. This policy outlines the rules and conditions under which we accept, process, and utilize donations made through our website or offline channels.
1. Eligibility for Donation
- Any individual, organization, or CSR entity may donate voluntarily.
- Donors can be from India or abroad, subject to legal permissions.
- Foreign donations are only accepted under proper FCRA compliance (when applicable).
2. Donation Modes Accepted
We accept donations through:
- Online payment gateways (UPI, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards)
- Cheque or Demand Draft (in favor of "Mangrove Foundation of India")
- Direct Bank Transfer (NEFT/IMPS/RTGS)
- Cash (only below the legal limit as per Income Tax Act)
3. Utilization of Funds
All donations received are used strictly for the charitable objectives of MFI such as:
- Mangrove Plantation & Restoration
- Environmental Education & Awareness
- Community Livelihood Programs
- Climate Action & Coastal Protection Projects
We reserve the right to allocate funds based on priority and need.
4. Tax Exemption under 80G
- Donations to MFI are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961.
- MFI is registered under Section 12A for exemption from income tax.
- Donors will receive an 80G receipt within 7 working days of a successful donation.
- The receipt will include:
- Donor name
- PAN (if provided)
- Amount donated
- Date of donation
- Receipt number
- 80G registration number of MFI
5. Refund & Cancellation Policy
- Donations once made are generally non-refundable.
- However, in case of:
- Accidental duplicate donation
- Wrong amount entered by mistake
- Technical transaction error
...the donor may write to us within 7 days of the transaction at admin@mfiglobe.org to request a refund.
- All valid refunds (if approved) will be processed within 7–10 working days via the same payment mode.
6. Donor Privacy
- We respect donor privacy and will not share personal or payment data with third parties.
- Donors may choose to donate anonymously.
- Refer to our Privacy Policy for full data use terms.
7. Donation Acknowledgement
Upon successful payment, donors will receive:
- On-screen confirmation
- Email receipt with acknowledgment
- 80G tax receipt (PDF via email or download)
In case of delayed receipt, donors may contact us for reissue.
8. Corporate Donations / CSR
- Corporates wishing to donate under CSR are welcome.
- MFI provides:
- MOUs, utilization reports
- Impact reports and activity tracking
- Branding & co-partnership acknowledgment (if desired)
- Please contact csr@mfiglobe.org for partnerships or site visits.
9. Right to Refuse Donation
MFI reserves the right to refuse or return a donation that:
- Comes from suspicious or illegal sources
- Is tied to unethical expectations or influence
- Is misaligned with our mission and values
